The Snowflake?

 

I know a lot of people wonder a great deal about my tattoos, and question what will it look like when shes older? How will she ever get a job? How will anyone take her seriously when she looks like that? Do they all having a meaning? 

Well i could answer this too ways, first what i really want to say " Does it really effect your life? Are you that concerned about these questions that you feel the need to have a input on something in my life that most likely has nothing to do with you?" Or i could truly and honestly take the time to explain why i have them and maybe explain the snowflake to you. 

Q:What will i look like when I'm older?

A: I got my first tattoo at the age of 16, i reseached the shop went in and spoke to a few different artists, drew up my peice and TaDa my first tattoo (which still looks as beautiful as the day i got it.) I take very good care of tatttoos to insure that they look beautiful in the far future. So to answer the question how are they going to look, well im not 100 percent sure my body could change but i will appreciate them no matter their appearance. All of my tattoos were done during a time in my life that i should never forget why would i want to allow a negative outlook on those times?

Q:How will she ever get a job? / How will anyone take her seriously?

A: Ive never had any problem getting a job based off of how i look, i always carry myself professionally and insure that none of my tattoos are rude or insulting to others, they are to bring joy to my life that should create negativity for others. I have an amazing job which i work in childcare ( to date never received a complaint on my appearance what so ever.) I am a lead at the center, represent the spirit board, have a student that shadows me, and received credit of moments i presented myself in the best light at my work which was posted for all staff in the building to read. So i would say that i am highly respected in my job and by my peers, i really dont think how i look really bothers anyone.

Q:Do they all have a meaning?

A: Some have more meaning then others, some that i might not share with you but that is because they are strictly for myself or loved ones. And others have a very light meaning that truly acts as a reminder for myself. 

So for the answer about my snowflake or my many snowflakes which are on many different spots from a cluster on my shoulder, some placed in a tea cup on my arm and well my first finger tattoo.

The snowflake means a couple of things to me;

One- I wasn't born in Peterborough, i was born in Timmins Ontario. I was around 10 when we moved to Peterborough and a lot of my favorite memories are from in the winter back in Timmins, and i love them, they have made me the person that i am today and the snowflake acts as a reminder to never forget that.

Two- Its most likely something silly to you but as cold as it is i love winter, i think its so beautiful after the snow a fallen and everything is sparkling its gorgeous. The snowflake also reminds me that i have to stop controlling everything and allow time to appreciate the small things that bring joy to my life, to never forget to take time to sit back an smile.

My hopes for this is to truly just show people that yes i love everyone of my tattoos no matter how it looks to you, its really just for me and that in your eyes you might not ever do this to your body but having tattoos makes me feel more confident and beautiful in my own skin and how i look at myself everyday. How many people do you know that can say "I carry my art with me everywhere i go?"

After playing Guild Wars for a short time yesterday night after work i found myself a little bored so i did a little indoor gardening as prep to moving in with a extreme green thumb i feel i might be getting the hang of it.

Snazzy new paper flower i made on my afternoon off while watching Disney movies, drinking cafe moca's, and eating dried cranberries.

 

I find these look so beautiful and make a room look very dainty as they hand from delicate stings from the ceiling even though cutting that much paper hurts my hands from the scissors and how long that they take they are most certainly worth it though.

Waiting for Alex to come home and it resulted in new nails using just a few things; scotch tape, nail polish, top coat, and scissors . 

And this is what happened , and I'm extremely happy about it .

After a very busy day i decided on a quite night, which resulted in making these guys which now hang in my makeup area. And they turned out to be very time consuming and took up most of my night other than planting more plants, eating cooking with milk, and being on pintest/ esty  getting home ideas. These guys are not that hard to make the picture below shows the shape that i used and also the lines on which you have to cut. Each flower needs eight of these then you just start sliding them together to create the sphere. I then just added string and taped them up. I'm going to try different shapes soon and venture into paper art as a little hobby (or we will see..)

Green thumb...

 

My best friend stopped by to see Alex and I tonight and talk about how our dogs were and about our plans about all of us living together in the next couple of months, she brought a bundle of little plants over to start planting now and they turned out beautiful. Which then got my on Pintrest which resulted in me creating a plants board on ideas. You can take a look at that page here . She also brought me some very yummy cupcakes which warmed my heart so much. 

Now off to bed with a lemon zinger tea in a little miss.giggles mug, Game of Thrones, and the comfys on.

Once Upon a Minion..

 

Alex and myself have been blessed to have two of the weirdest minions ever. 

Shadow is black lab crossed with a American bulldog. We adopted Miss.Shadow almost a year ago.We were her third home in a month, her previous owner moved and did not want to take her with therefor pushing "candy"(her first name) onto a friend of her's who renamed her shadow. Shadow didn't do well at a shooting range where she would jump up every time the gun was fired so he placed her on online.

Alex and myself were looking for a dog and saw shadows add, we both agreed we would just go to look at her but we fell in love the moment we saw her she didn't bark when we knocked. She came walking around the corner with her ears down, We sat on the floor to allow her to come see us and after a kiss to the face she came home 30 minutes later. Shadow didn't come with anything so our first stop was a pet store then straight home.

Miss. Shadow is very laid back, but extremely awkward.

She is very attached to Alex and I and has to be very close to you if she can. Every night when crawling into bed shadow with stand right next to you and just stare at you, for no reason she just wants to look.

When one of us gets out of bed in the morning she will take your spot and spoon the person who is left until its time to get out of bed.

After having Shadow for awhile we felt she needed a furry friend to keep her busy while we were working. 

Ivy is a miniature dachshund mixed with a yorkie terrier, She was found also online, when we went to go view the litter she wasn't the one we were there to see but that dog wanted nothing to do with us it only wanted to be near is mother unlike Ivy who came right over with no fear crawled onto my lap and fell asleep, The breeder said that she was the runt of the litter and didn't get along with the other puppies all that well, but that didn't stop me. Ivy was taken home that night and introduced to Miss. Shadow who took her under her wing within minutes.

Ivy is crazy,she is always on the go(unless she has her hoodie on, it calms her down for some reason) Ivy only weights 6 pounds but that doesn't stop her from getting into everything which has resulted in her name around the house to be garbage dog. Her all time favorite thing to eat is nose tissues, She knows the sound of the box and will come running from anywhere to snag one from you. 

I don't know how my life would be if i didn't have my girls to come home to, They brighten up my day and take great care of me when Alex is working. Minion cuddles are the most comforting cuddles that could be given.

Hello! Id like to apologize for not posting yesterday, or the lack of post that will happen till Monday, due to packing, driving, and well enjoying our trip it will be a bit hard to post. Therefor keep checking in to see if ive posted and then Monday will be the mother load of posts to view and read.

Due to it raining when we arrived the hills were closed, but that's alright it gave us time to set up our gear and do a little bit of shopping.

The super adorable stores allowed for me to scratch my shopping itch that has been irritating me for awhile. 

Everything i bought was over 40% off (which is amazing!)

I found super cute pajamas for my little nephew that came with a snazzy little hat, also the amazing sweater with patched elbows, a sewn in anchor on the one elbow and buttons on the shoulders by Hatley.

A Volcom sheer baby pink polka dot tank, and a super comfy grey cardigan with the softest leather (I'm sure not real leather) elbow patches... i think i like elbow patches.

Also a little bit of munchies consisting of mint chocolate fudge, dried cranberries and dried kiwi's that we already ate.

A few other things were purchased but they are for a lovely friend of mine who's birthday is coming up soon also she is living in our place and watching the little minions.

Packing...

Hello! I'm not 100 percent sure if im going to do a "real" post tonight just due to the fact that im crazy busy! Alex and I leave for our little snowboarding trip tomorrow right after im done work, Therefor i have a bunch of stuff needing to get done fr example sticky note everything... i dont know why but we seem to have a lot of passwords around our home, finishing up the shirts for an event some girls at work are in that i promised would get done.. after two failed attempts on them i gave up and went the simple way.

Along with just those little things i had to figure out how i was going to pack very little... Thats hard for me. so this what i was about to scheme up for my weekend snowboard trips which ill try and post some pictures on here throughout the weekend.

Its nothing really too crazy, just some lululemon under shirts, and two pairs on lululemon tights, some patterned tights, lots of socks, the lined volcom long sleeve, diamond baseball tee, underwear.. a billabong cardigan that has frindge, a huge over sized nomis sweater, a hugely oversized quicksilver plaid mens hooded sweater, a nice white shirt a friend gave me, cheapmonday skull shirt, mitts, and a tensor bandage.. thats it.... thats all i have packed so far.. i still have to pack my make-up , all my gear up, and like bathroom whozits.... i feel like im most deff going to forget something very important. Well i guess we will just see!

Im off to hopefully finish my packing and i will leave you guys with the beautiful artwork of two little girls in my room! They worked very hard on this by the way.

 Lets just start off with this amazing fellow, This is the bright eyeshadow palette, it contains 144 different colors, that aren't small dinky little pieces they really are full and have a lot of pigment. AMAZING! So I'm going to break down why i got this big palette after i explain the costs of everything together.

I'm going to list off everything and how much they cost; The eyebrow stencil kit cost $1.00, the all over cover stick in light beige cost $1.00, The 147 piece eye collection RETAILS for $24.00, Crystal travel brush set cost $10.00, The baked eyeshadow in enchanted and moonlight serenade cost $6.00, The blush in tickled pink and candid coral cost $6.00, The acne fighting foundation in porcelain cost $6.00, The high definition power in translucent and porcelain cost $12.00, The mineral infused face primer cost$6.00, The kabuki face brush cost $6.00, Makeup mist & set cost $3.00.

So all this should cost : $81.00!!! WHAT and this before TAXES!

but.... i got some deals, so here's the little deals i got, because i spent of $30.00 the 147 eye makeup palette only cost me $3.00!! that's a saving of $21.00 YIPPIE!! 

Now also during this buying time if i spend over $35.00 i got free shipping! yippie!! 

So i saved there as well now also did you catch that i didnt mention the cost of the three black makeup brushes... Well thats because they sent those to me for free! so that was nice as well because those brushes cost $3.00 a piece so i made $9.00

Therefore this is how its broken down

 81.00+9.00(3 brushes)+6.00(shipping) = $96.00

96-21-9-6=60

$60.00 right on the dot!! yay! this makes me extremely happy! and really excited. So this was super fun, it was also nice to open my mail to see that my beautiful Auntie had sent Alex and myself as really touching and super cute engagement card. Thank you if your reading, i love you so much!

Miss Pickles with hair?

Hello! So I"m sure everyone is aware i do wear hair extensions, Alex and I thought it would be funny to give Miss Ivy Pickles a hair style using them... Her face shows us that she has turned into her alternative ego which we call "Pickle Juice" Where she respond too, and she becomes extremely mellow and cuddly while wearing her skull and dog bone hoody i bough her from Old Navy.

I felt it would be super funny to share it with you guys as it made me laugh for a bit with how cute it turned out. 

 

OOTH #1

I though i would show you guys what i wore today for my day of Volunteering, Now for the people who know me know that i work in childcare but im not too sure if all of you know i have to wear a uniform.. so the days i have the option to dress more like myself i like to have a little bit of fun with it.

Ill start from top to bottom, my champagne/ purple headband is just from ARDENE along with the stone necklace. My Earrings are from TARGET which i showed in my earring collection part of my station post.Im also wearing my snowflake necklace(which i haven't been wearing due to my new neck tattoo healing).My shirt is OBEY and i purchased it from a local store that i used to work at when i bought it cost around 90$..(i know but I've had it for a couple of years and it still looks new) My sweater i got at my local winners and its Free People, i love it! The local store i worked at used to have these I'm  pretty sure and at the time i wasn't interested in clothing like this but wish i was, but I'm happy i was able to find this even tho i know its a couple seasons old.
I paired it all with a pair of high waisted Lululemon yoga pants which i love! THEY HAVE POCKETS, and a pair of canvas blue striped lined UGG boots i got from Victoria secret years and years ago.
Now because it is winter here, i have to wear a coat! but i am happy to say it was a super cute coat i got on clearance at Rw&Co. I fell in love with it when i saw my best friend ISA with the same coat in black and when i checked it was only in maroon but i truly do love it and it makes me feel really pretty and cute when i wear it. (lots of you know that's usually not my style but its great to feel like that sometimes... more now then lately.)

Sorry about the deer head i was making a Derp face and well i wasn't going to put my coat back on for another picture, but this is my super cute maroon witch coat. The hood is extremely massive and you can pretty much hide out in it.

Make-up Monday #1.. And fish?

 

Hello There! Today was a very busy day for it being Family Day. I did a couple hours of Volunteering for my work setting up for a event and running the popcorn station! (Which smelt amazing!) I Thought i would show you the makeup i used and a list of it as well along as which parts of the pallets i used as well.

 I first started out with washing, toning, and applying my Simple moisturizer after  letting that i dried i used SMASHBOX Photo Finish foundation primer(i let that sit and dry for about five minutes) then i apply my Elf Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in the shade Porclain (with my finger tips, as i feel it makes the tinted moisturizer look best).

I applied The third color from the sheer/sunrise Elf Shimmer Pallet (which has a golden champagne color to it.) I placed that across my lid and faded it onto my brow bone. (This acts as a eye shadow primer till mine comes in the mail) i then use  Tufted Suede from my Two Faced Pallet on the middle of my eye lid with Velveteen Bunny on the top of my tear duct. 

 Then for the bottom on my tear duct i applied M.A.C VANILLA Velvet (just a tiny bit, I'm running low and need to get a new one therefor I'm using it wisely )

Then on the outer edge of my eyelid and onto the eyebrow bone area i used SMASHBOX GLOW ON shadow trio in the burnt orange color followed by the golden chocolate brown color in my crease to add a tiny bit of dimension. I'll give my cheeks a little pat with NYC color wheel mosaic face power in the brighter pink colors (cant find its name)

Now that my eyes are done which means my foundation is dry! YAY! i just use a fluffy brush to dust on a light coat of Translucent face powder by Marcelle. And to finish it all off i use my mint EOS chapstick with Maybelline BORN WITH IT 015 lipstick.

 

There we go! This is the makeup i wore for Family day! which i got to spend with a few special little ones from my daycare! Also little bit of knowledge on running a popcorn machine, when the man tells you 3 bags in at a time well he means it. I over loaded the cereals and it resulted at it spitting hot butter onto my hand.OUCH!

But on another note while i was at my work i popped in to check on the new fish i got for my children and they all seem to be doing great and being really active. 

In the tank(which I'm sure someone will say i over corded them... i don't care it looks beautiful and the children love them)I also got my children a big purple Mystery Snail from a local petstore which a friend helped pick out for me, Well he was stuck to the glass so there is a picture of him (i haven't name him yet, you can offer suggestions too me ... just comment below) These fish make me really happy at work, Alex and myself want a fish tank but we don't want to set one up in our place due to moving in a couple months.  So learning little tricks while at daycare helps for when we set up ours soon! YIPPIE!

In the tank there is Three mickey mouse palties, Five sorta leopard guppies and the big purple mystery snail.

BUNNIES IN SWEATERS!(brings such a huge smile to my face), i find myself always going to Pintrest and looking at super cute animals.  How amazingly cute are bunnies wearing sweaters or how about a bunny wearing a backpack?! ( i know! right?) Alright so i have bunnies on my mind, may it be Easter approaching, or how i keep thinking about Sir Winston Cottontail, anyways here are a few pictures that warmed my heart today and brought a smile to my face.

Pamper Night

 

Today was a busy day consisting of organizing all my clothes, drawers, well pretty much everything in the bedroom now has a happy home. I stayed in my pajamas all day due to this task taking a lot longer than i expected, But its good my Finance and I are going on a weekend trip and my dearest friend is living in my home to take care of the two minions ( god bless her), i decided after making my first teacup candle (smells like peppermint and dried rose petals), A Skype date with my sister ( yay! to seeing her beautiful belly), giving Miss Pickles a bath in the kitchen sink i felt a Pamper Night was in order (I have these almost every second day).

I run a hot bath, light candles put on usually a album i'm listening too (Lana Del Rey was my mood tonight) 

Alex bought this amazing CoBigelow Mentha body wash that makes you feel extra clean while getting a chill.

Then washing my face with Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit, Then right before i get out of the bath ill suds up with Lush's Miranda soap which as it says on the packaging " Fruity kiwi soap for soft glowing skin" I use this soap on my elbows ans knees for a little extra help.

I'll sometimes do a Balea face mask, i didn't tonight i just used my Shoppers drug mart LIFE brand face toner and simple hydrating light moisturizer then onto skin care routine! 

I pick out comfy pajamas(tonight's winners leopard shorts and shirt my friend gave me that has a tattooed lady on it). I start with The Righteous Butter body lotion" which a bestie of mine gave me as a gift forever ago and now it's always a must buy( it makes me feels pretty and like I'm "feeding my skin... weird i guess)

Then The Body Shops Shea body butter which i feels gives me a very relaxed feelings. Lips! I start off with Lush's Santa's lip scrub and oh my goodness this is amazing ans i love my friend for getting me hooked on LUSH! So you just rub it on your clean lips for a couple minutes then lick it off (tastes like soda! yummy)

Followed by BertsBee's replenishing lip balm with pomegranate oil(i feel this just adds color and a thick moisture to my lips), 

Then one of my must haves CARMEX to finish it off (carmex just makes my lips look and feel complete) after all this is done i have one last step that truly makes me feel like a queen. 

 Coconut oil! A friend of mine recommended it for a hair mask for my hair and it turned into a " i need you everywhere sorta thing" i rub a thin coat from my toes to neck. I truly feel and smell amazing after using this, i did apply a little bit to dry patches on my face ( T-Zone, nose and chin) This is heaven in a mason jar, its a paste but the heat from your hands just melt it to a oil, I have to take all my rings off when i do this as it adds so much moisture to EVERYTHING. I would recommend for anyone and everyone to try this.

After all this is said and down i Skyped with my dad and had a chit chat about work, my cleaning, and vintage furniture, I then pressed a couple of flowers from the bunch Alex got me for Valentines Day.         ( what a cutie). Now cuddled up in bed with the minions as they sleep wearing their Christmas sweaters that Alex felt they both needed to be wearing tonight.

My Station Pt.1

 

My station is my hub for a lot of the little things that make me happy and are the prime location for my daily tasks involving make-up, nail painting, some jewelry collections and prepping for all of this. 

My station includes a look into my collection of items ( a girl always needs options, right?)

 

The above shows a few of my little collections including a few of my favorite Kinder egg animal toys, bracelets/ bangles, ear plugs ( that no longer fit), hair gizmos, rings, earrings, and in the cupcake contains more rings. A little peek into the top two clear boxes ( bought at Target for $1 which got you 3 singles or 1 row of three) which contain a small earring collection and ring collection. 

Ear Treasures: Ear chain, Pink vintage daisies and diamond domes from Target.Others ranging from my first earrings, randoms, and simple sets.

 

These earrings and rings are not the everyday pieces that i wear as due to working in Childcare i cant really wear to many items but i do wear the same four rings everyday as they mean too much to ever really remove. They include my Black Diamond Engagement ring, My Mothers gold wedding band, The First Diamond ring Alex ever gave to me, along with a gold band from my Mothers collection i usually wear a mid ring on my snowflake finger(yes, we will talk about the snowflake soon enough)
