Oh hi! I'm Back!

Well Hello! No i didnt stop chevron snail, i have just been extremely busy! So to get back into everything im going to sum up all the craziness that has been going on along with some updates.

Alex and myself have moved into a lovely new place with my best friend Isa along with her boyfriend Mike. We are all enjoying the new place and everything that comes along with it. 

Painting, decorating, gardening, well everything has been fantastic!

Also.... My amazing big sister had her little man, Noah! Was born a day after my birthday (may 14th 2014) at an amazing 9.6 pounds! and is doing fantastic! i have never been so proud of my big sister, she was so strong and really relaxed as i recieved text messages at 5 in the morning and throughout the day keeping me up to date with how she was doing. 

Kassandra and Aaron are amazing parents and have a handsome little man on their hands. 

It surprising because i never took my sister to ever have children, but seeing how she is with Noah makes my heart so incredibly happy to see how amazing she is with him and how natural it looks! 

YAY FOR BABIES!

Now living with Isa and Mike is amazing... but ... Mike is an God of Gaming, but that is a bad thing for me because he shows me new games and then i get addicted therefor resulting in mass consumption of Minecraft!

 Tattoos... yes a few new ones have been added, and well i guess they just display my nerdy"ness" i got them both done in the same sitting by a really god friend of mine if you want to know about him just send me a message and ill be more than happy to put you in contact with my buddy. But here they are... lets see if you can figure out what they are from (both different)

Along with all this madness, i have started to draw again, but in a media im not familiar with so its been taking some time getting into but ive been surprised with the final result. Ive been messing around a bit with felt tipped pens and sketch paper by cross hatching.... Here is an example of a piece i completed for Isa, i also did one for myself and i am currently in the process of doing two for Mike's birthday but of course they are a little bit more difficult and taking more time, but all in time they will be done.

 

So yea, thats just a little update on some of the things that are really just popping into my head on "whats new" my answer is .....um....ah... because there is so much! but i am sorry, and well HEY! im back! Pictures of my amazing art office will be posted soon ( when its all organized... i never knew i had this many pencils...) and photos of our cozy house! 
Im also (hopefully) going to be doing a post of Mike's live streaming to do a little acknowledgment for him.

Practice?

Alex told me that he needed head shots done due too a being in a performance in the summer that he will also be playing lead guitar in, But because he is in the play he needs a head shot which yes will be easy and fun but i always find it hard to take pictures of others so i was practicing on how close i could get with my camera on Miss. Shadow before i took Alex's Photos tomorrow and it resulted in this closeup of her that reminded me of my highschool photography class.

 

Vanillary

Do you want to smell amazing? Of course you do. Well im not one for trying new scents because when i fall in love with one im stuck on it. But i dont like to wear anything over powering. Vanillary is a very delicate scent, leaving you feeling warm and cozy sorta like a homemade cookie. I bought the solid stick perfume and i love it, i place it on my wrists and on my collar bone before i go to work and it lasts all day! I find when im going all day ill catch little bits here and there of the smell and it reminds me that if i can smell it so can others!

Extensions

It makes me extremely happy to be able to wear my extensions and have them blend like a dream! Because i work in childcare i dont wear them all that much along with makeup, im in a Jr. Preschool room and with the children's little hands its not the best idea. They enjoy brushing my short hair and they are always giving you kisses on your cheeks or touching your face that makeup doesnt hold up or it just soaks up all the oils off of their little fingers that it just results in breakouts. So when i do get wear them i feel really really girly which is always fun .

Packing

Im sorry, but if you haven't heard from me well im packing! Alex and myself are moving at the end of the month and along with work, house viewings, life, my sister having a baby very soon its been hard to post but it will be done. If there is anything you want to know or want me to blog about ask away and it will be done. Again sorry but with the move i will be getting a proper desk setup resulting in more posts and organization. 

Miss. Shadow isnt feeling the packing, i threw all our clothes onto the floor to sorta through it, and when i came back into the room Miss. Shadow was fast asleep on the pile. Im not too sure why she is upset about moving, My hopes are that she doesnt think we are leaving her behind, trust me that would never happen but it makes me sad to think that might go through her head.

 

Homemade bath melts

I had a few different things around the apartment that i felt would work perfectly for bath melts, and well they turned out great! It was really, really easy to make these. All i did was crush up some flowers(these were dried wild flowers, and dried rose petals) I only used the petals of the flowers i felt they held a lot of scent, and Coconut oil. I melted about four cups of the oil until it was all melted and clear, i added the petals in and let it simmer for ten minutes. I then poured the oil into a mini cupcake tray with dark chocolate chips in them. Popped the tray into the freezer and TADA! all done! just pop one into the bath and enjoy. I find it did make the bath oily (duh!) which made it great to shave with nothing but the water and it makes you smell fabulous! 

XL Hermit Crabs

 Sebastain and Dr. Zoidberg have been welcomed into the house. They are two XL Caribbean (purple pincer) Hermit crabs, and they are XL they are approx 3 to 4 inches wide. These two little guys are adorable to watch walk around, eat and dig holes around in their tank. And super easy to care for if you follow the rules.

A relaxing night in.

Ultrabalm.

Ulterbland was given to me by friend around christmas time as a tester and well, i had no idea how to use it! until i watched a few youtube videos i found out it could be a makeup remover! YES! a makeup remover, and it works amazingly, it doesnt leave my eye feeling greasy, and since i have figured this out i have fallen in love with it. Now the lush times it says it can be used for other things but to be honest i feel this one works best as a remover and i like it that way.

Mark. Makeup

I am extremely impressed with Avon's Mark. line of makeup. I have started to not wear makeup during the week while im at work due to y face seems to not like it so much, it breaks out and it just turns into a battle with my skin. But i did want something light and almost not visible. One the Mark. makeup case is so cute and has two zipper pockets (yay!). Get in line- has to be my all time favorite liquid liner. It holds on so well, it doesn't flake or bleed as well. No place to run, it a twist eyeliner pencil im really surprised that it really does hold on, i use it just on the bottom rim of my eye to help reflect a little bit more light around my eyes. The disk is eye primer for eye shadow and i have tried a few different ones and this one is neat it almost feels like a lipgloss but it holds onto the pigment you place ontop. The foundation is nice, except it has a red undertone which for right now due to a long winter i have lost a lot of that tone too my skin so with spring and summer im sure this foundation will look a lot more natural on me. Now... the illuminantor.. not sure what i think.. i find this is very light, and sheer.. which for under my eyes, well i dont want that i want to cover up my dark circles and sorta grey tone to me... it also doesnt help that where i placed it my father said " you have a little something orange right there." well... thats not a good sign if he can point that out. Therefor we will see about that one and who knows i could be using it wrong. I'll do some snooping.    

It's April!

It's April! Therefor you know what that means, RAIN! lots and lots of rain, and because i work in childcare... im outside for two hours (minimum) a day! But... I enjoy rain for one reason alone. HUNTER rubber boots! I have had my hunters for a very long time, and they have held up and after a little TLC they always end up looking brand new. So everyone enjoy the rain because it only means that flowers and all the critters will be here soon. 

 

Lush Review

Ok! Im going to start off with I NEED MORE CHARITY POT IN MY LIFE!! alright that is out of my system but it needed to be said. As you know Isa and myself went to our closest LUSH and i ended coming home with a whole new aspect of thinking of my skin and how i need to take care of it. Charity pot has become a daily staple in my life, honestly my skin has never felt this good, it makes my tattoos pop off my skin and i smell amazing all day! Alright now im going to talk about a few other LUSH products ive been using every day or alternating. 

Honey Trap! so i love anything that smells like Vanilla, it makes me feel girly and pretty and for some reason always reminds me of my mom. therefor ive always enjoyed this scent along with i remember my first ever lush product i tried was a massage bar that my mom has bought years ago and it smelt just like this, you really just want to eat the product it smells that amazing. In the winter my lips to not like me and i really do try everything but honey trap solves all my rips and cracks so YAY! this i would say is a must have and its like dirt cheap so HAPPY HEART!

Alright next up is Daddy-O. I learned the hard way is to never assume you know how to properly use a product. My previous experiences with purple shampoos are that you need to let them sit on your hair to really work and achieve a light blonde or white...So thats what i did.... bad choice my hair stained purple for 4 ish days! i had to lift it out. So my next try i just wet my hair washed it in while i was rinsing and holy cow my hair is a beautiful white! i am in love! 

 Ocean Salt. I was scared of this little guy, i had purchased it for Alex as his skin acts funny i find. He has been using it on face and body and he hasnt had a break out at all! so i thought i would give it a try as for some reason i get these like little bumps on my arms and shoulders some times i dont know but ocean salt has been making my weird areas not bream out or react to whatever was in my previous body wash... sorry dove we might never ever be friends... ever again. but something it doesnt say on the front is... VODKA! thats right its in there with the lime ready to kill EVERYTHING bad on your skin, it skins on any open cut but hey you know its working right? i will have to take a photo of what it looks like open because wow! its so pretty and the texture is so nice that you know its really working on your skin.

Alright i want to take a minute to really speak about how i really feel on LUSH, i feel by the products that i have been using im really starting to love my skin and my body as for what it truly is. Ive NEVER been one to say hey i love this on me (other than my modifications i have made) but using my face products i can confidently walk out my door with not a speck of makeup on and not care what anyone is looking at because I feel good and I feel pretty. Along with the skin care what it has been doing is amazing i can walk around my apartment it a sports bra and lulu's and feel that my skin looks beautiful and tighter and not almost have that grey shade to me that im so used to seeing. Along with feeling good on the outside it makes you feel good on the inside spending the money on these products. Fair trade, fighting against animal rights. Which i support 200%! i love my fur babies and all the creatures i have found homes and cared for, no animal deserves to be treated like poo! no matter if your not an animal person ( if thats you... you should most likely seek help... sorry not really sorry) you should always look into what really goes into product testing. i will admit i do forget sometimes what im putting on my skin and possibly what little guy had to try it before i buy it. but using products like Lush. So YAY! and thank you Lush for making me feel pretty. (thumbs up)

A New Face

I've been asked to do some reviews on the lush products that i have been using. I felt it was a good place to start was the products that i am using everyday, starting with my face.

As you know Isa and myself made a trip to the Lush that is near us. We had an amazing time and were served one on one resulting in a new face routine for me. I will admit i am known for not taking good care of my skin and face but i really want to and my goal is to have nice skin that i wont have to wear foundation anymore and being able to feel comfortable and pretty in my own skin not covered up.

It was suggested that i use Lush's Fresh Farmacy, Tea Tree Water and Vanishing Cream.

I'm going to start with Fresh Farmacy which i will say i am in love with and will be making this my life long face wash!

"Farmaceutical assistance for sensitive faces. Wash with this mild calamine and lavender bar to calm troubled skin" Lush times. Key word "troubled skin" as said in the Lush Times, yup that's me. I was reading reviews online about this and the most negative comments i could find all complained about the smell. Which i agree was different for me, its not your typical tingle your face off with overly scented chemicals from the drugstore i'm shamefully used to. 

You can strongly smell the calamine and lavender but i personally love those two smells. Calamine reminds me of summer time as a child and having bug bites and lavender reminds me a great deal of my big sister. 

I felt that the cleanser being in a solid form was neat, i felt i wasnt wasting it or using to much.

Ive only been using this for a week( twice daily) and i am already seeing an amazing difference, the first couple days i started to see the redness go down but along with it came itty bitty tiny pimples but not the type i had ever seen but i pushed through it and kept washing. Long and behold... TADA! no more tiny pimples i feel that using this cleanser resulting in cleaning my face so well was pushing out all that yucky stuff (tiny pimples) leaving my face that extreme clean from a very gentle, creamy soap! now this cleanser does leave my face very dry which means the next two products, the tea tree water well smells like tea tree (simple enough right?) so that just gets sprayed on my face before i apply the vanishing cream. And well im addicted, this cream is perfect for my face, i have dry patches and oily patches so i have always found it hard to a moisturizer that helped both and didnt work against each other.

"Our lightest moisturizer absorbs quickly and promotes clear skin with witch hazel and lavender." - Lush Times.

And it does what it says it does, the smell is not overbearing on my face which i love but i do like that it is barely there that i know its on and working away. I feel this moisturizer plays a big role in my face feeling amazing. After i let it soak in my face smells and feels amazing and so very soft! 

I would not trade this routine for anything right now, i will say that i do want to try Lush's Coal face and sub it in on days that i know i have been really hard on my face.

But i am slowly becoming more in love with my skin due too Lush! so thank you! My heart is happy!

 

20$ shoes!

I lucked out! Thank you Old Navy! I am extremely happy with these 20$ black shoes i found at old navy, super cute and comfy but look dressy, they are flats with open sides! Dont get me wrong i love, i mean LOVE my brand names but these are very cute and i couldn't pass them up. YAY! they had a few different colors. 

LUSH!

Isa and myself had a spoil day! we went to LUSH in Pickering and well it was amazing, came home with a lot of things to not only to look good on the outside but to feel good on the inside.

We got to test a lot of products to feel 100% satisfied with what we were buying. If i could have i would have bough one of everything in the store, but settled with what i got with the intentions to get more very soon.Here is a list of everything i ended up getting.

Meow Minions

My parents cats always bring so much joy to my face. I went to have dinner at my parents house on Saturday and as i was lying down on the couch Ricky jumps up to headbutt me then go sleep on my feet. Now this cat is not social, she does things on her own time so this was a special moment. As for the last picture thats Avery who is mom's special little man, he was suppose to be my at but he got really attached to my mom and follows her around, sleeps with her, watches her get ready, talks to her. Its weird but its cute.

number 13

I get asked one question a lot when someone is looking at my tattoos. 

"Why a 13?" I do a the number 13 on my wrist, and its one of my favorite tattoos. The tattoo was done on Friday that 13th, which is one of my lucky days and i never understood quite why. Im also one of the lucky people to have my birthday be the 13th. (MAY 13th) When i got this tattoo done it wasn't on my birthday just Friday the 13th. Im was really excited to get it done and always makes me smile when i see this little guy.

Getting Ideas

Time moves fast on the topic of our move. Which will be May 1st. this upcoming week we have 3 viewings to attend too. Which makes me so happy!

Alex gave Isa and Myself full say in how we want the house too look! which is amazing. Therefor this has lead to many giggles and hand claps of excitement between Isa and myself with all of our ideas. Im pretty sure Isa and myself are somehow related and its crazy how everything that seems to bring happiness too ones life the other generates it as well. Our goal is that when you walk into the home it feels like a home. Not a dorm like feel of guys, to make it cozy, creative, alive, inspiring and relaxing. The pictures are of ideas and vibes that we both really like or i have chosen out. Also Isa and myself made it clear that we will have a "dressing room" pretty much a walk in closet. I was treated by a great visit from my best friend which we discussed awesome house ideas and she brought me some face wash, toner, some smell good face scrub! And chocolate. She also cooked me a really yummy stir fry that had tofu in it and kale chips ... AMAZING! im going to attempt to cook a different version tomorrow night.
